California Bearing Ratio-CBR Test Apparatus (CBR) is designed for performing laboratory evaluation of the California Bearing Ratio value of highway sub bases and subgrade and for the determination of strength of cohesive materials which have maximum particle sizes less than 19 mm (3/4”). The machine is designed to be mounted on a suitable bench and comprises of a robust and compact two column frame with adjustable upper cross beam. The frame is 50 kN capacity. Three test Rate of Strain speeds are provided 1.25 mm/min, 1.50 mm/min & 2.5 mm/min tests.

Product Overview

Vertex CBR test apparatus is used for determining the relative bearing ratio and expansion characteristics under known surcharge weights of base, sub-base and sub grade soils for the design of roads, pavements and runways.

Tests can be conducted on all types of soils including sand, gravel and washed stone (passing through 20 mm IS Sieve).

The CBR test is used extensively in selection of materials and control of sub grades. The procedure consists of loading soil with a circular piston, 50 mm dia face and maintaining a penetration rate of 1.25 , 1.5 and 2.5 mm/m.

The load is noted and the results of test on natural or recompacted soils, in soaked and unsoaked conditions, can be compared with standard test results.

CBR Load Frame Machine. With a capacity of at least 5000 kg and equipped with a movable head or base that travels at an uniform rate of 1.25 , 1.5 and 2.5 mm/m. Complete with load indicating device.
