The compress meter consists of two frames for clamping to the specimen by means of five tightening screws with hardened and tapered ends.
Two spacers hold the two frames in position. A spring enables the pivot rod to remain in contact with pivot screws.
The ball chain is for adjusting the tension of the spring. A dial gauge, fixed to bracket, fitted to the top frame, is used for taking deformation measurement. Supplied complete with a dial gauge.
Used for determination of modulus of elasticity of concrete using 15 cm dia x 30 cm high cement concrete cylinders subjected to compressive loads.
The apparatus consists of two annular frames of cast aluminum alloy with two gauge bars. The bottom frame is provided with three clamping screws with hardened conical ends to hold the specimen at two diametrically opposite points. Both the frames are joined together with a pivot rod and tensioning spring. On the diametrically opposite end of the pivot, a dial gauge of 0.002 mm x 5 mm range is fitted to the top frame with a bracket. The plunger of the dial gauge rests on an anvil fixed to the lower frame. The dial gauge records the deformation of the specimen under compression.
Supplied complete in a wooden box.
